The Benefits of EMDR Intensive Therapy
At Stable Space Therapy, we understand that healing from trauma takes time — but it doesn’t have to take forever. EMDR Intensive Therapy offers a focused, accelerated approach to healing by allowing clients to experience deeper progress in a shorter amount of time.
What is EMDR Intensive Therapy?
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a highly effective, evidence-based therapy designed to help the brain process and resolve traumatic or distressing memories. In an intensive format, EMDR sessions are structured over several hours or consecutive days rather than spread out over weeks or months. This concentrated approach supports faster relief from symptoms and a stronger sense of resolution.
Why Choose an Intensive Format?
Many clients find traditional weekly therapy sessions helpful — but for those struggling with long-term trauma, anxiety, or PTSD, weekly sessions can sometimes feel too slow or interrupted. EMDR intensives offer:

Here's the best part: EMDR is NOT just for trauma! While it is incredibly effective at addressing traumatic experiences, it is also an excellent choice for other concerns such as anxiety, depression, phobias, addiction, attachment issues, and more. The intensive therapy program is a surefire way to kickstart your wellness journey or help push beyond those plateaus.
How Intensives Work
EMDR intensives can be customized to fit your schedule in a way that doesn't impact progress. Whether you choose multiple consecutive days of sessions or need to break it into shorter intensive sessions, you have the flexibility to choose what works for you.
What does EMDR intensive therapy look like? We will work with you to identify areas of concern, maladaptive patterns, and your personal history to create a "blue print" for treatment. Then, depending on your schedule and treatment goals, your therapist will provide a general estimated timeframe for best results. For example, some client goals may require 6-8 hours of intensive EMDR, while complex trauma may require 15-20 hours to see the most progress. While this is an investment of both time and finances, think of it as being able to achieve 20 weeks, or almost 6 months of weekly therapy, in just one week.
